As a young child my mum would sit me on the worktop and hand me a wooden spoon, dripping with cake batter to lick. Getting my fingers trapped in a mandarin tin, didn’t quash my curiosity about food.

Inspired by so many chefs and cooks, websites, books and television series. I love nothing more than delving into recipes to try and tweek. Baking was my first joy, but my love of hearty savoury meals soon became an equal favourite.

My daughter followed in my footsteps and my grandson recently scattered the kitchen in sugar and flour.

Eating out, meals in; food is a constant thread that binds friends, families, communities, societies.

Food, travel, literature and the arts in equal measures.
